Susan Kathleen Garcia Aker, 62, of Tampa Florida, passed peacefully into her next life on Saturday, March 11, 2023, at Advent Health Tampa.
Susan was born in Elizabeth, New Jersey on Tuesday, December 13, 1960. She was the sixth of seven children to Edward and Helen Aker. She was preceded in death by her mother Helen Crossman Aker, father, Edward Aker Sr., and older brother Robert Aker. She is survived by daughters Valerie (Matt) Pekarofski, Angela (Enoch) Nadler, and Laura Lee (Doug) Smith, granddaughters Selene and Bianqa Smith, siblings, Edward (Evelyn) Aker Jr., Helen (Henry) Vence, Harry (Marilyn) Aker, Laura (James) Jones and Steven (Debbie) Aker, as well as several beloved cousins, nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great-nephews.
Susan spent the first half of her life in Elizabeth and attended Thomas A. Edison Vocational and Technical high school. In the summer of 1995, she relocated to Tampa, Florida, where she enjoyed the rest of her days. Loyal, loving, and compassionate, she enriched the lives of everyone she met.
A private memorial service will be held for family members.
