Maria De Jimenez

Maria Elizabeth De Jimenez, 72 of Bogota Colombia, was called to be with the Lord on Wednesday, January 12, 2022, in Wesley Chapel, Florida after a long battle with a chronic disease. She left in peace and God granted her the blessings to say Goodbye to all her children, grandchildren and living siblings.

Maria married Francisco Jimenez and together they formed a beautiful family with five children, she always made sure they had everything they needed, even though she was a full time housewife. Her life was dedicated to her husband and children, who were raised under their catholic faith. Maria and Francisco always put the needs of their children ahead of theirs, and they made sure all their children had a chance to succeed in life.

Her husband Francisco left to be with the Lord a few years back. In later years, Maria moved to the US to live with her daughter Elizabeth and family. She has always been a role model for all her grandchildren, and at different time she helped raise them and became an influential figure on their upbringing into faith and cultural roots from her loved country of Colombia.

Maria was a creative person, you could always find her working on her beloved handcrafts and hand-made jewelry. She enjoyed the simple things in life: chatting with family and Friends around a nice cup of Colombian coffee.

Maria is survived by her two daughters Mireya and Elizabeth, her three sons Alejandro, Giovanni and Francisco, eight grandchildren, Vanessa, Alejandro, Gabriel, Ivan, Bianca, Siu Mei, Luciano, Isabella, Andres and Gustavo, her “adopted” son Ken and the spouses of her children. She is also survived and will be memorialized by her great extended family for which she served as an anchor and central point of contact. Even though some of her children live in different countries, she always kept the family together and ever pointed them towards each other. She always provided an open ear and compassion to them, she showed them how much she cared about them.

All her children will always remember and cherish those moments they spent together. They always looked up to her, loved her, and this admiration and love will be translated into carrying her legacy to their children, which also loved her deeply.

All her children mourn her departure and will always remember her as the most beautiful, loving, and caring mother she was. She was a warrior who fought her battles with courage and a smile, never a complaint and was always there for everyone. she leaves behind a legacy of love, unity and a commitment to family.

Funeral Church services will be held on Maria’s honor on Saturday January 22, 2022, at 1030 am at Saint Mark the Evangelic Catholic Church at 9724 Cross Creek Boulevard, Tampa Fl 33647.
