KELLY ANN WEST (12/8/1964 - 10/24/2021) Born in Haines City, Florida, the youngest of 4. Born with Downs Syndrome, the doctors told her parents they had two choices: put her in an institution or take her home and love her. Of course they chose the latter, no question. Member of Bayshore United Methodist Church and then Idlewild Baptist Church where she was a Greeter; graduated from Lavoy School, Burger King’s training program and was a loyal employee of McDonald’s Restaurant located at Lois & Kennedy Blvd. for 30 years. She would ride two city buses home every Monday through Friday; was a member of the Special Needs Class and Special Needs softball team. Kelly is survived by her mother, Donna Mae West, her sister, Stacey Lynn West Tomasko (husband Tim); her brothers, Alden R. ”Parkey” West, Jr. (wife Lisa); and Brian Hilton West (wife Kathleen); nieces, Amanda, Christina, Elizabeth, Jessica, Samantha, Bailey; nephew, Blake; Uncle Edwin and Aunt Harriett Lee. Kelly knew she was a special needs person, but never used that as an excuse and always strived to be like everyone else. We love and miss her.
