Jason Ian Cribb

Jason Ian Cribb (48) passed away July 25, 2022 at 7:45am after 15 hours in hospice care and 9 months at Largo Medical Center.

Jay was born in Warner Robbins, Ga on May 15, 1974 at Houston County hospital.

He loved being outside and playing with his friends, as a child and into adult hood. He was the 1st grandchild on both his mother and father’s sides. Lysia always called him Mowgli because he got all the Spanish genes. He loved playing all sports, but tennis was his passion. He never met a vegetable he liked. Cheesecake was his favorite dessert. He graduated from Chamberlain in 1992. He was infuriatingly intelligent and would prove it at every turn. He was never wrong! He loved watching hockey with his sister whenever he could. He could tell you any sport’s teams stats. Tampa sports was a huge part of his life. The Bucs, Rays, and Bolts were his teams until the end. His sister taught him how to cook eggs at the ripe old age of 47. He was a member of numerous fantasy sports teams. He was definitely a cat person, but he would deal with dogs (unless they licked him). He had a mild obsession with shoes. Specifically tennis shoes. He never met a Jordan he didn’t like.

He’s preceded in death by his father (Lee), maternal grandparents (Marcella and Larry), paternal grandparents (Olga and Lee), uncle (Clifford) and his daughter (Keira).

He is survived by his mother (Karen), step dad (Don), sister (Lysia), brother-in-law (Chris) and nephew (Max) and numerous other family members.

Jason was taken from this world way too soon. Our mom always said, “if you’ve ever really lived, then you will never truly die because your memory lives on with the people you touched.” So we know Jason will live forever. Because he touched so many people’s lives with his humor and intelligence. And maybe a little bit of asshole tendencies.

The memorial service will be held at Compassionate Cremations and Memorials. 14506 N Florida Ave Tampa 33613 on Sunday July 31, 2022 at noon.
