Helen Miro

The world lost a beautiful soul on January 10, 2021. Helen Miro loves her family, church, and friends along with the Christian friends the Lord put in her path to help keep her faith strong. She said these people “refreshed” her and helped her to avoid threats along the way. When faced with daunting things out of her control, Helen didn’t let circumstances and challenges ruin the pleasure she enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She loved to teach others and regularly offered help to those in need. She dedicated over 30 years working with mentally and physically disabled people. She worked as a teacher trying to help her students realize their full potential in life. She thought of her students as “her children“ and treated them as if they were her own. She enjoyed sharing stories about them with family and friends. Helen had a kind and giving heart. She touched so many of us by sharing her love, her home, her wisdom, and care. She was thankful for the time she was able to help her students, but often searched for what her “job” in life would be. Caring for her students was a gift and created purpose in her life.

Helen loved living in Land O Lakes, FL. She saw the beauty around her as a gift. She enjoyed looking at the lake from her front porch with all of the trees that framed the view. As she said “even the tiny weeds the Lord created have such beautiful little flowers and so many of them grow in my yard. Plants, large and small, share the beauty He gave them. It is easy to enjoy all of His creations.” She enjoyed the quiet and solitude on early mornings while in Aripeka, FL. The quiet would soon dissipate when her friends gathered to take part in crafts. Helen loved to quilt and crochet. So many of her friends and family have received beautifully handcrafted gifts made with love that all will cherish for years to come.

Helen is survived by her sisters Betty Shelton and Patricia Miro. She was predeceased by her father Augustine L. Miro and mother Ruth E. Miro. Helen has joined her parents in her eternal home. Together, they are enjoying the happiness we are all promised.

A celebration of Helen’s life is scheduled for June 21, 2021 at 10:00 am.

The service will be held at Faith United Methodist Church at 12128 State Rd 52, Hudson, FL 34669.
