Douglas Scott Morawek, 66

(Doogie, Uncle Doug)

Passed away peacefully surrounded by his loved ones, on April 3, 2025 in Tampa, FL from complications of his 3-year battle with leukemia.  Born May 9, 1958 in Appleton, WI to Donald and Glenna Morawek. He was a devoted life partner, son, father, brother, uncle and friend.

Douglas spent a number of years working at Yacht Chandlers in Ft. Lauderdale before he retired and moved to St. Petersburg, FL to be with his loyal and faithful partner, Sandra.

Douglas’s hobbies and interests helped define the beautiful soul he was. He loved music and it showed in his vinyl/cd collection and yes, even cassette tapes. He especially enjoyed going to concerts as long as someone else got the tickets. His love of thrifting developed his cool sense of fashion. Day trips were always surprisingly fun and adventurous with him.  He was a diehard Wisconsin fan; he loved his Green Bay Packers, Badgers, Bucks and Brewers.

Douglas had a way of making everyone feel special, always there to help when needed, always including everyone with his infectious smile and twinkle in his eye.

He is survived by….his partner in life, Sandra Sutta, fur kids Penne and Cooper; his “baby girl” Jessica Drossart, Pompano Beach, FL who Douglas loved as his daughter; his mother Glenna Morawek, Chilton, WI; his two sisters Khristine (Eugene) Miller Viola, WI and Sara (Greg) Wipperman, New Holstein, WI; three nieces and five great nieces and nephews; and many beloved life-long friends.

He is preceded in death by his father Donald Morawek.

A life celebration will be held on his birthday May 9th, 2025 4-7pm at The 10th Frame in Appleton. A pre-celebration will be held 2-4pm at Dr. Jekyll’s (Pat’s Tap).

We would like to thank the staff and doctors at Tampa General Hospital, TGH Cancer Center and Moffitt Cancer Center.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in Douglas’s memory may be directed to Lymphoma and Leukemia Society or to Sandra to offset final expenses.

I may never see you again'Cause I get a peaceful, easy feelingAnd I know you won't let me down'Cause I'm already standing I'm already standing on the ground
