Deborah “Debbie” Ann Jones Smith

November 28, 1956 – March 30, 2022

With love, honor, and respect, Deborah “Debbie” Ann Jones Smith, beloved sister, mother, and grandmother has passed … March 30, 2022.

Debbie was Born in St. George, Bermuda to Evan Thomas Jones Jr. and Barbara Jean Apman, while her father was honorably serving in the United States Air Force. Her military family moved to Texas, and settled in Tampa where she graduated from Robinson High School, Hillsborough Community College, worked at GTE Communications, and after retirement continued her service work for Florida veterans.

Debbie was full of life. She truly loved and especially treasured times with her family and friends. She was creative and adventurous, enjoying everything outdoors, her animals, plants, and her arts/crafts. Her sisters will share that Debbie was their smartest, prettiest, most fun, and kindest sister that was most like their beloved mom. Debbie had the best stories and experiences, and oddly enough, they were all true.

Most of all Debbie loved her son Josh and she was very proud of him. She gave thanks to God for blessing her with Josh, and then a daughter in law, and grandchildren. Her favorite bible verse was 1 Corinthians 13:4-8. Debbie was kind and loved unconditionally. She always saw the good in everyone and the positive side of things in every circumstance. She never judged and always forgave. Debbie always had hope for the good in all of us.

Debbie was sadly preceded in death by the heartbreaking loss of her twin infant children Jordan Nicole and Matthew David. Debbie is survived by her beloved son Joshua Beasley, daughter in law Jaileen, grandchildren Aiden, Alexandra, sisters Barbara (Mark), Karen (Jon), Peggy (Jimmy), nephew Joey, nieces Lauren, Marcia, and Kathryn.

As her family grieves and misses her, Debbie loved her family, and she would want for all to remember the happy and fond memories that they shared with her throughout her life. With love and kindness, she will live through all and watch over all.

The family wishes to express their sincere heartfelt gratitude for those who loved, cared, were compassionate, brought a smile, gave a happy memory, and were kind for their Debbie.

A Celebration of Life for Debbie will be held on Sunday, May 1, 2022 from 3 pm to 7 pm at the Hugh Gilbert Strickland American Legion Post 138, 5535 W. Prescott St., Tampa, Florida.
