Obituary

Ronald “Ronnie” Dopico passed away on April 4, 2026, after a brief illness, surrounded by his loving family. He was 42 years old.

Born on October 8, 1983, in Tampa, Florida, Ronnie was the third child and first son of Augusto and Amada Dopico. A lifelong Tampa resident, he took great pride in his Cuban heritage and his West Tampa roots. He attended St. Joseph Catholic School, Jefferson High School, and Hillsborough Community College.

As a child, Ronnie cherished his summer vacations spent on the beaches of Indian Rocks and Siesta Key. He enjoyed going on family cruises, and as a teenager he had the opportunity to meet and spend time with his extended family in Güines, Cuba. 

Ronnie found joy in music, dancing, watching his favorite television shows, caring for his cats, and spending time with those he loved. His vibrant personality, especially his sense of humor and boisterous laugh, will never be forgotten. 

He had a great love for his family, especially his nieces and nephews. Ronnie was always so proud of them and never tired of sharing their accomplishments. He had an especially close bond with his nephew Eddie, who grew up alongside him and whom he loved as a brother. 

A faithful Catholic, Ronnie celebrated all of his sacraments at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Tampa. His family found great comfort in being together with him and as he received the Anointing of the Sick before his passing. 

Ronnie was preceded in death by his beloved mother, Amada, whose loss profoundly affected him. 

He is survived by his father, Augusto Dopico; his sisters, Yunia Febles (Leo) and Yvette Manes (Jesus); his brother, Kevin Dopico; his nephews, Eddie Ether (Sandra) and Gabriel Manes; his nieces, Daniela Febles and Julianna Manes; and his grandnephews, Xavier, Gabriel, and Jacob Ether.

Ronnie will be eternally remembered as a loving son, brother, and uncle. His loss is deeply felt by all who knew and loved him.

We will love and miss you always and forever, Ronnie. 

A Mass will be held for the repose of the souls of Ronnie and Amada Dopico on August 8, 2026 at 5:00 p.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Tampa.
