Obituary

Richard “Dennis” Cutchin, 82, of Mooresville, NC died in Tampa, FL on December 24, 2025.

Dennis was born in McColl, SC in 1943 to Thaddeus Eric Cutchin and Lula Bell Cheek. He was the second youngest of 14 brothers and sisters and the last of them to pass away. To his many nieces and nephews, he was known as “Uncle Dennis”.

He worked at Martin Marietta for 42 years, starting as a clerk and retiring as the Senior Micro Support Specialist; proudly self-taught on all computer technology.
He was also an active member of St. Therese Catholic Church in Mooresville, NC for over 30 years serving as a Eucharistic minister and mass coordinator for many of those years.

Dennis is survived by his son Eric Cutchin, his daughter Sara Brannock and son-in-law Michael Brannock, and his grandchildren, Ash Cutchin and Riley Brannock. Known as Papa, he will remembered by his grandchildren as “very kind” and “he always had a joke to say”.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 10th at
St. Therese Catholic Church in Mooresville, NC.
