Obituary

Raymond Allen Williams, a longtime resident of Saint Petersburg, Florida, passed away on January 20, 2026, following complications from cancer. Born in Detroit, Michigan, to Walter and Juanita Williams, Raymond grew up attending the Clarenceville School District before answering the call to serve his country.

Service and Community

A proud veteran, Raymond served in the United States Air Force from June 1961 to February 1966. His commitment to his fellow service members continued throughout his life as an active, long-time member of the American Legion, Post 104 in Pinellas Park, Florida. Ray was known for his contributions to the Post, where he curated a library and created a cherished picture wall to honor veterans’ service photos. When he wasn’t volunteering, he could often be found playing pool and darts with his fellow veterans.

Family and Legacy

Ray was a man who loved the simple pleasures of life: a good science fiction novel and, above all, time spent with his family.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Debbie Williams; his parents; and his sisters, Geraldine McKay and Marion Olson.

His memory will be carried on by his loving family:

Raymond’s warmth, his dedication to Post 104, and his love for a great story will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
