Paul Stanley Babiarz, age 77, a dedicated mental health counselor and Vietnam War veteran, passed away on Friday, January 30, 2026, in Hillsborough County, Florida. Born on August 17, 1948, in Chicago, he dedicated his life to understanding and helping others through his professional work and compassionate spirit.

Paul served honorably in the United States Army during the Vietnam War, an experience that profoundly influenced his career path. Driven by a deep interest in psychology, he transitioned from military service to become a committed mental health counselor, spending his professional life supporting and understanding the human experience.

A lifelong Chicago Bears fan, he maintained his love for sports and humor throughout his life. Those who knew him remembered his ability to find laughter and bring joy to those around him.

He is survived by his children, Nancy, Elaine, and Stephen, as well as his siblings, Cynthia (Patrick) Hanrahan, William F. (Kathleen) Babiarz, and Marcia (Thomas) Fleetwood, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard Babiarz and Stephanie Babiarz-Thegze.

Paul will be cremated, with his family planning to inter his ashes at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood, IL.
