Obituary

Micheal Milan Kent was the beloved son, brother, proud uncle, and friend to so many. He passed away suddenly on August 29, 2025, at the age of 38, in Tampa, Florida. He is survived by his parents, Thomas Kent and Jeanne Greaves; his sister, Nicole Harkness; his niece, Juniper Harkness; his nephew, Jax Harkness; his loyal companion, his dog Tumi; as well as his extended family and many friends.

Micheal was born on April 15, 1987, in Spring, Texas, but spent most of his life in Stamford, Connecticut. Summers were often spent with family enjoying the outdoors in Foster, Canada. From a young age, Micheal had a passion for sports— he excelled at hockey, playing through high school, loved snowboarding in the winter, and golf in the summers. He also had a love of music and played bass in a band, Veracity, alongside close friends.

He graduated from Westhill High School in Stamford and went on to attend Michigan State University, where he earned a degree in Economics. Micheal began his career in accounting and tax work in Stamford before relocating to Denver, Colorado, with his dog Tumi. There, he pursued his love for the mountains, opening up 5280 Board Shop that reflected his passion for snowboarding. Later, he moved to Tampa, Florida, to be closer to his family.

Known to most as “Mike” or “Kent,” Micheal will be remembered for his kindness, humor, warmth, and the way he lit up every room with his vibrant smile. He had a big heart and a gift for making people feel valued and at ease. He was deeply loved and will be profoundly missed.

A remembrance service will be held on Saturday, October 11, 2025, at 1:00PM
