Obituary

Kenneth Allen Howard, 89, of Lutz, Florida, passed away on March 16, 2026, at St. Joseph North Hospital in Lutz following a long illness.

He was born in Kenosha, Wisconsin, on November 30, 1936, and married Marilyn Pullen on November 12, 1955. They moved to Bristol, Wisconsin, where they raised their three children, Kenneth, Thomas and Christine (Eide).

Ken worked for 30 years at Johnson Outboards in Waukegan, Illinois, and for over ten years delivered the Kenosha News in the county. He had one of the largest routes in the county where everyone saw him delivering the paper in his bright orange jeep.

After retiring in 1986, the couple moved to Largo, Florida where they created a successful business, Ken’s Bush Hog Service, which he managed until his second retirement at the age of 70.

During his free time, he enjoyed boating, watching NASCAR, taking cruises, and watching his beloved Green Bay Packers. Ken will be remembered for his kindness, unwavering integrity, sense of humor, optimism, and love for his family. He is also remembered as someone who could build or repair just about anything, and always happy to share his knowledge. He is remembered and loved by everyone who knew him.

His pets were an important part of his life. In Wisconsin, he was proud of his St. Bernard dogs. In Florida, Lucky the macaw entertained everyone who came near. Several dogs kept life interesting, including Minnie, the little Yorkshire terrier who never left his side.

He is survived by his wife Marilyn, two children, Thomas (Cynthia) of Kenosha, Christine (Wayne) Eide of Citrus Hills, Florida, his dear friend Jimmy (Pam) Jones, who was like a son, his brother Orrin Howard of Crivitz, Wisconsin, five grandchildren, and six great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his oldest son, Kenneth, (Vivian) on September 7, 2014.

A Celebration of Life is being planned for later this year in Kenosha.
