In Loving Memory of Janet Springer (nee Kane)
It is with profound sadness and endless love that our family announces the passing of our beloved wife and mother, Janet, on June 12, 2026, at the age of 77. She passed away peacefully, her rosary in hand, surrounded by the warmth and love of her family. Janet was born at home on October 31, 1948 in Scranton, Pa. to John and Rose Kane As the cornerstone of our family, she spent her life dedicating herself to those she loved, always ready with a comforting embrace, a kind word, and a home-cooked meal.
A true matriarch at heart, Janet was a woman of immense faith, strength and compassion. Whether she was gardening, baking, camping in the Smokies or simply offering a listening ear, her radiant spirit touched everyone who had the privilege of knowing her. Janet turned her compassion into a career as a Caregiver/Hospice Nurse for her patients in Tampa and Orlando for over 30 years.
She remembered and celebrated every birthday, accomplishment and milestone in our lives and made us feel special. She taught us the value of faith, the joy of giving, and—most importantly—what it means to love unconditionally. Our home was always filled with her devotion to the Catholic faith, and we will carry her beautiful legacy in our hearts forever.
She is survived by her loving husband of 57 years, George Sr., her devoted children: George Jr., Mitch (Heidi) and Greg (Renee) and her cherished grandchildren, McKenna and Ryan.
Friends, family, and all those whose lives were touched by Janet are encouraged to say a prayer, light a candle or attend a church service to honor her life.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Bushnell National Cemetery at a future date.
