Emmett Pyle, age 74, passed away on July 7th 2025, at James A. Haley Veteran’s Hospital in Tampa, Florida. He was born in Cleveland, Ohio on September 5th, 1950 to the late Robert E Pyle and Catherine Artman. He was a longtime resident of Painesville and Madison, Ohio before moving to Spring Hill, FL in 2018.
Emmett was a United States Marine Corps Vietnam Veteran. After his time in the military, he married Joanne Lena Olsen in Fairport, Ohio on July 21, 1973. He worked as a skilled full-time machinist. He had a strong passion for his family, friends, and horses, and loved making candles and fishing. He was a strong supporter of the Boy Scouts of America and a great 4-H dad. After being confined to a wheelchair, he enjoyed participating in the Veterans Wheelchair Games in Ohio and Florida. He competed in several different events including air rifle, billiards and bowling.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 42 years, parents, half-sister Sherri Tidy and step-brother Lenny Wilcox. He is survived by his children, Lisa (Mike) Riha and son Noah, Robert-Jon (Catherine) Pyle and son Simon, brothers Greg (Alma) Pyle, Paul “Bobby” (Betty) Pyle , half brothers Kevin “Allan” (Sara) Mullins and Michael (Jeanette) Pyle, half-sister Dee Anna (Andrew) Hrywnak, step-sisters Janet (Dave) Cool, Shirley (Ron) Campbell, Betty Zelenak, Mary Wilcox and several nieces and nephews.
A celebration of Emmett’s life will be announced at a later date.
