Obituary

Barbara Ann (Fogarty) Leavell, 73, passed away peacefully on April 3, 2026, in Tampa, Florida.

Born in Medford, Massachusetts, Barbara was the eldest daughter of the late John and Florence Fogarty. She was predeceased by her siblings, Marlene Sheehan and Paul Fogarty, and is survived by her siblings Joanne Vigneau, John Fogarty, and Kevin Fogarty.

Barbara is an alumna of Bridgewater State University and built a long fulfilling career as a flight attendant spanning more than 20 years. She had a natural way of connecting with people and was known for her warmth, quick wit, and strong belief in equal rights, fairness, and kindness toward others.

Above all, Barbara’s greatest joy in life was her three sons, Corey, Kyle, and Christopher, whom she loved deeply and was endlessly proud of. She also leaves behind her former husband and dear friend, Greg Leavell, three cherished grandchildren, and many loving nieces and nephews.

Barbara loved relaxing with a good book, was an expert crossword puzzler, and treasured time spent with her friends, especially their cherished “sabbaticals” together.

She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew her.

A Celebration of Life will be held on May 24, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Seven Oaks Clubhouse in Wesley Chapel, FL.
