Obituary

Luis, always with a smile, a joke, or a game to make everyone happy. When he was invited somewhere, he was the first to arrive and the last to leave. He was a great walker and marathon runner, climbing and descending the Henri Pittier several times. He was also a great musician — he played the guitar, the cuatro, the mandolin, and the keyboard. He sang with his soul.
Luis Alberto Arcila Canelón was born in Maracay, Venezuela, on August 10, 1944, into a large family of nine siblings: Francisco, Berta, Eduardo, Blanca, Doris, Cervilia, William, and Yasmín — all children of their parents Francisco and Blanca.

In 1966, Luis married Reina Alvarado, forming a beautiful family with their children Reinita, Reiza, and Tulio, and their grandchildren Bárbara, Iván, and Tulio Luis.

After completing his secondary studies, he began a successful professional career, eventually managing a multinational company for many years until he founded his own business together with his daughter Reiza, which he maintained until 2018.

Throughout his life, he had a strong vocation for service — for this reason, he studied to become a firefighter, always serving as a volunteer, eventually reaching the rank of Lieutenant and serving as Commander of the Reserve Professional Firefighters Company.

Another of his passions was tennis, a sport he practiced and competed in, representing the Centro Hispano Venezolano.
In the later years of his life, he dedicated himself to historical research on the recent past of his beloved hometown, Maracay.

He lived his life surrounded by those he loved — as a devoted son, a supportive husband, a wonderful father, and an adoring grandfather. His kindness and love touched every generation of his
