Sabrina Barres




Sabrina Lynn Emery Barres (29) of West Palm Beach passed away in Tampa on June 30, 2021, surrounded by her family. She was diagnosed with Mucosal Melanoma (KIT mutation) on May 14, 2020. Throughout the challenges of various cancer treatments Sabrina remained positive. She created her mantra "I am Strong!" and recited it daily. Sabrina was born in West Palm Beach, FL on April 9, 1992, to Kerry and William J. Emery, Jr. Sabrina interned and then worked as a project engineer at WGI from 2014-2020. She was a devoted wife and loving mother, sister, and daughter. Sabrina is survived by her husband Jonathan Barres, son Emmett (2), step-son Bradley (11), parents William and Kerry Emery, grandparents William and Judith Emery, sisters Tiffany Emery and Valerie Emery, Uncle Gordon Kelly Weaver (Kelly Gordon Weaver), Aunts Kristina McMillon (Mike), Ann Carmean (Cody), Diane Page (Tim), cousins Geoffrey Rabba, Calvin Page, Morgan Page, Dora Page, Amanda Weaver Smith, Mason Smith, Brandon Weaver, Troy Weaver, David Findley, Colton Carmean, Haley Carmean, Blaine Carmean, in-laws Pauline Barres, Tiffany Foley (David), Bridgette Cahill (Chad), Margot Webb (Joshua), Ashley Herrington (Blake), Marshall Barres (Hillary), and many great aunts, uncles and cousins.


As a child, she enjoyed gymnastics, dance, cheerleading, horseback riding, and baton twirling. Sabrina spent her spare time camping, boating, playing games, juggling, doing puzzles, reading, and spending time with family. She attended Wellington Elementary and Polo Park Middle school. She graduated from Wellington High School in 2010 where she was part of the Equine Pre-Vet Academy, studied American Sign Language and was a majorette in the Mighty Wolverine Sound. Sabrina participated in Girl Scouts from Daisy to Senior where she earned many awards including the prestigious Silver and Gold awards. She ran her first half marathon her senior year of high school, but she had to give up running due to knee pain. She attended the University of Florida where she met her husband, Jonathan Barres. While in college she enjoyed attending Gator Football games, listening to country music, line dancing, and working at O’Connell Center. Sabrina passed the FE (Fundamentals of Engineering) exam on the first attempt and proudly earned a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering in 2015. Her favorite foods were strawberries, cheesecake, and champagne. Her favorite stress relief activity was crafting with her Cricut machine. Most of all Sabrina loved being a mom and playing with her son. Sabrina inspired us all with her faith, strength, and courage. She will be deeply missed.


Memorial Service for Sabrina Emery Barres on Saturday, July 17, 2021, at 5:00 p.m. at Oceanview United Methodist Church 701 Ocean Drive, Juno Beach, FL 33408. Followed by a celebration of life at Abacoa Golf Club 105 Barbados Drive, Jupiter, FL 33458.

What a beautiful soul who was a part of and created an amazing family. She is now an angel in heaven who will guide and guard everyone who has touched her and who she has touched.
