Kathryn “Kathy” Jane Robelot Martin, 75, of Scott, Arkansas entered eternal rest on January

15th, 2025, after her hard fought and brave battle against cancer. She was born in Little Rock, Arkansas on July 6th, 1949, to Ralph R. Robelot Sr. and Gladys Louise Harvey Robelot.

Kathy worked as a hairdresser for many years at Nell’s in North Little Rock before returning to school to pursue her lifelong dream of becoming a nurse. She followed her dream and spent the second half of her career as a nurse at Baptist Medical Center in Little Rock, then finishing her nursing career providing comfort and care to nursing home residents.

Kathy loved her plants and flowers, with one of her favorites being lily of the valley. She loved

her beautiful hummingbirds. You could frequently find her outside feeding them and watching

them buzz around her. She was an avid movie buff and owned quite an extensive collection. She was a voracious reader passing along her love of books to both of her daughters. Kathy had a dry wit and when she started laughing, she found it hard to stop. Her laughter was contagious as she made others around her laugh too. She was a huge music lover, especially Motown Era. Kathy was also quite the dancer. Kathy always took care of those around her. Most of all Kathy loved hard and if you were fortunate enough to be her family or friend, you were truly blessed.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Ellis Martin Jr., her daughter Kim Martin Downes, her son in law Kenny Downes, and her niece Tricia Sevier McCool (Jeremy).

Kathy is survived by her daughter Kerry Martin-Rodriguez and her grandchildren Wesley

Downes, and Gabriella and Ryan Rodriguez. She is survived as well by her sister Karen Robelot Sevier (Lori, Steve, Aurora; Lisa, Abby, Katelynn; Trey, Anne, Conner, Tanner, and Beau) and her brother Robby Robelot (Lisa; Adam, Adrienne; Rachael, Andrew, Blakely, and Scarlett).

Kathy is survived, in addition, by her extended family and friends, whom she cherished dearly.
