Jane Estelle Robb
May 22, 1939 – October 18, 2022
Jane Estelle Robb, 83, of Tampa, Florida passed away unexpectedly in the early morning hours of October 18, 2022 at Luxe Rehabilitation Center in Lutz, FL.
Born May 22, 1939 in Harrisburg, PA, she was the daughter of the late William F. and Catherine C.(Caveston) Robinson. In 1959 she married Douglas Hamilton. In 1960 she gave birth to her daughter Cindy. Jane was a single mother until she met Kilby Hugh Robb and they married on December 7, 1973
Jane was a proud member of the 1957 graduating class of H. B. Plant High School in Tampa. After graduation she worked many years in clerical positions for several employers; Dr E.J. Montiel, Fredrick & Nelson, Dr. Albert Hernandez, Maas Brothers, Ford Motor Credit Co., and Russell Distribution Co. In 1982 Jane joined the Hillsborough County Tax Collector office and in 1984 transferred to the Property Appraiser office where she worked until her retirement in 2010.
Jane was an animal lover and over her life provided a loving, forever home for a number of beloved dogs and cats. She and Hugh were very active in animal rescue, fostering and finding homes for hundreds of dogs needing loving homes. For many years they devoted most Saturdays to showing off their current fosters to potential adopters at local pet stores in the hope of finding them a new forever home. Jane was an avid supporter of the Tampa Bay Rays and Lightning.
She is survived by her loving husband Kilby Hugh Robb; her daughter Cindy and her husband Jim: her granddaughters Megan and Alicia; her great-grandchildren Ryder and Cooper; her beloved dogs Ears, Tiny, Lil Bit and Ozzy; and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her granddaughter Angela and her parents William and Mary Robinson.
A visitation and remembrance of Jane’s life will be held on Friday evening, October 28, 2022, between 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Compassionate Cremations and Memorials, 14506 N. Florida Avenue, Tampa.
