Geoffrey Blake Steiner “Geoff” 69 of Tampa, FL passed away on August 15th, 2022, in
Tampa with his family by his side after a long illness. Geoff was born in TX, and grew up
in St. Louis, MO with parents LeRoy and Rosemary Steiner. He attended Parkway
Central High School. Geoff joined the Navy on his 18th birthday and completed his
service as a Second-Class Petty Officer having served aboard USS Sailfish (SS – 572)
and at Naval Station Rota. A life-long Saint Louis Cardinals Fan, he enjoyed rounds of
golf, skiing slopes in the Rockies, and traveling the world with Rose, his wife of 32
years. He earned a baccalaureate degree in Spanish literature from Washington
University in Saint Louis, MO and his Juris Doctor from Cumberland School of Law in
Birmingham, AL. Relocating to the Tampa area in the 1980s, Geoff worked with the
Public Defender’s office, having been hired on-the-spot for being bilingual. He worked
for various law firms before opening his own practice in the late ‘80s. Geoff was a
litigator who fought zealously for his clients. He was a longtime member—and Past
Master—of the John Darling Masonic Lodge, and Shriners International, in Tampa, FL.
He volunteered at the Shriners’ Children’s Hospital, St. Michael’s Legal Center for
Woman Children, INC, where he was awarded recognition for his hours of service to
woman and children, and the James A. Haley VA Hospital for his fellow veterans. He
was a former member of the St. James United Methodist Church. Preceded in death by
both parents and his younger brother, Michael Steiner. Surviving him, his wife
Rosemarie Steiner, his children Alexandra (Mark) Deweerd of Land o’ Lakes, FL, Xavier
Steiner of Laguna Beach, CA, and Geoffrey Steiner Jr. of Miami, FL, his
granddaughters Victoria and Olivia Deweerd, and his sister Nancy Jones Gaglio of Lynn
Haven, FL. A memorial service will be held at Nature Coast Family Fellowship Church
on Friday, November 18th at 11 AM, officiated by Pastor Thomas Almond. A military
honors burial will be held at Bushnell National Cemetery at 2 PM that day. Memorial

Richey, FL 34654, or to a charity of one’s choice. The family wishes their gratitude to
