Carol A. Bridges, 62, passed away Friday, January 17, 2025, in Tampa, FL. She was born to Jerry (deceased) and Rachel (deceased) O’Neal on May 31, 1962, in Lakeland, FL. Carol was a kind, supportive, nurturing, humorous, loving, smart and an extraordinary woman. 


She graduated from the University of Maryland with a bachelor’s degree in business management, and she held many types of jobs as she traveled around the world with her military husband for 29 years. She was foremost a homemaker, mother, and grandmother (Oma); but she also worked as a secretary, bank teller, substitute teacher, accountant, hair stylist, realtor, bookstore manager’s assistant, an active member of the worship team and choir at Tampa Bay Presbyterian Church in Tampa, Florida, and dental office manager.


In her free time, Carol enjoyed singing, doing needlework, going to the beach, and spending time with her grandchildren. 


Carol is survived by her beloved husband of 43 years, Rev. Chaplain Michael F. Bridges (Colonel, USAF, Retired). She is also survived by her son, Adam Bridges, and his wife, Jessica, who reside in Florida with their son Aiden. Carol is survived by her daughter, Tiffani (Bridges), and Tiffani’s husband, Timothy Michalenko (son-in-law) who resides in North Carolina with their son Cooper and their daughter Harlow. Carol also leaves behind her sister Linda, and Linda’s husband, Chuck (brother-in-law) Gordon, in addition to her brother, John O’Neal. 


Carol leaves behind many other relatives living throughout Georgia, Florida, and Louisiana: 

David Ford and Gladys Beam; Steven and Amy Ford, with Chloe and Bailey; Cathy and Mike Gailey; Jeff and Tonya Ford, with Samuel and Tristen, Daniel, and Caleb; Mina and John Prophit, with Alex and Madison; Josh and Sam Ford; Dell (deceased) Bridges and Dawn (deceased) Bridges; Donna and Ricky Cawley, with grandson Hank Miller, daughter Jodi (deceased) Cawley Medford, and son Clint, and his wife, Rachel Cawley, with their son, Hughes; Justin and Kayla Giddens; Josh and Ariz Giddens, with Raylan; Debbie and James Moore, with Ted and Ivie Wright, and Johnathan and Hollie Moore, with their children Cohen Nipper and Sawyer Moore; Kayla Underwood, with Mayson Smith, and Alyson, Adyson, and Mayson Underwood; Stacy and Bo Driver, with Jordan Odom, as well as Eric Odom, with Madden, Asa, Raynee, Kannon, and Dansby; Dillon and Bailey Driver, with Beckham and Briggs; Summer and Will Warren, with Oakley and Teagan; Neal and Julie Bridges, with Emmerson, Tanner and Morgan Bridges, as well as Hayden and Rebecca, with Charlotte, and Daniel Bridges. 


A Celebration of Life Service is scheduled for

Saturday February 1, 2025, 2:30pm, at Rocky Mt. Baptist Church. 

A Guestbook will be provided at the church.
