Amy Jo Cullen

Amy Jo Cullen, 1958--2022

Amy Jo Cullen, 64, of Riverview, FL died peacefully at her home on February 18, 2022. She was

retired from Tampa General Hospital, where she worked as a nurse for over twenty years. She

finished her career as a Trauma ICU nurse.

She was born in Punxsutawney, PA and grew up in Tarpon Springs, FL. She graduated from

Tarpon Springs HS in 1976 as Senior Class President, attended UF for two years, and later

graduated from Hillsborough Community College as a Registered Nurse.

Amy told great stories, and reported fond memories of growing up in Tarpon Springs. She was a

water bug who went on weekly family boat outings. She was a Daddy's girl and assisted her

football coach dad with the HS team practices, keeping score and timing drills. She loved Greek

food and going to the sponge docks for freshly caught shrimp.

Amy is predeceased by her parents, Joe and Helen Cullen of Tarpon Springs, and by her cousin

Linda Roubos (David) of Tampa. She is survived by many, many close friends, including her "adopted" family of Tampa General nurses, and her adopted family from her years as asst. manager at

Camp Keystone, Odessa (the Connie Amos family). She is also survived by her beloved cat, Mary

Grace.

Amy was well loved, and she loved others well. She had a delightful, energetic, vivacious spirit

and she drew people to her. She brought joy, humor, and fun everywhere she went, and she

was a tireless support to friends.

Amy cherished her many pets through the years, and loved animals of all kinds. She liked

rigorous swimming, watching football, cooking with friends, home projects, following politics

(she was a Democratic patriot), playing crossword puzzles and the occasional game of poker.

Most of all, she loved her friends and family.

Amy is terribly missed by all who love her.

A Celebration of Life will be held in March, in Tarpon Springs
