Obituary

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Robert Thomas Guggenheim Sr., known fondly to many as Rob, who left us on October 25, 2025 after a short hospital stay.

Born in New York City on January 30, 1953, Rob grew up in Brooklyn with his father, Daniel Sr., and mother, Doris, along with his three older brothers, Dan Jr., Bill, and John. His family moved to Miami when he was around six. Later, they settled in Tampa, Florida, where he graduated from Jesuit High School.

He attended Florida State University in Tallahassee, where he met his former wife, Pam, during his college years. Following graduation, Rob briefly studied in Houston. His family then moved to Atlanta, Georgia, where Rob graduated from John Marshall Law School and became a member of the State Bar of Georgia. He established his own law practice in downtown Atlanta and built a life in the suburbs of Gwinnett County.

Over the years, Rob and Pam welcomed four children—Robert Jr. (Robbie), Christopher, Bridgette, and Andrew—who brought great joy to his life.

After 18 years in Georgia, Rob moved back to Tampa, Florida, to be closer to family, spending much of his time with loved ones, his children, and grandchildren.

Rob was preceded in death by his parents, Daniel Guggenheim Sr. and Doris Walters, and two brothers, Bill and John.

He is survived by his brother, Dan Guggenheim Jr. (Linda); his children, Robbie Guggenheim (Heather), Chris Guggenheim, Bridgette Ayotte (Warren), and Andrew Guggenheim (Brianna); his seven grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews—all of whom will carry his memory forward.

He will be laid to rest in a private burial service at Prairie Creek Conservation Cemetery in Gainesville, Florida.

A memorial service will be held on November 9th at 3 p.m. at
Grace Brethren Church, 6300 62nd Ave N, Pinellas Park, FL 33781,
where friends and family are invited to come honor his life and legacy and pay respect to his family.

Rob Guggenheim will be deeply missed but forever loved.
May his soul find peace.
